Winter is very determined this year to hang on until the end. I would not be surprised if it snowed in July this year. It’s happened before, you know.
Some one was surfing the net looking for attire etiquette for a garden tea party where gloves and hats will be worn. If you are going some place where hats and gloves will be worn, whether it is inside or out, wear a dress or skirt. If you are concerned with the heels of your shoes sinking into the ground, wear flat or low, wide heeled shoes.
Last but certainly not least, I used the word, whimsical, today. I was happy that I had the chance to use such a whimsical word as whimsical. That just doesn’t happen too often but perhaps it should. I like to imagine a world where such words as, whimsical, enchanting and delightful are used more than, recession, Jihad, and alternative lifestyle. How about you? What words would you like to see make a come back? Oh, here is a link to the site that delighted me enough to use the word whimsical. LINK
When I got up at 6, it had just started snowing. The street was wet but snow free, and there was a thin layer on snow on the cars, but it was coming down like crazy. Two hours later, this is what the view was out the same window.

Of course, Tech Hubby has the cool Jeep. I like it when it snows, you can’t see my car. It’s a Chevy, with a bad paint job as do all Chevys of this time frame. Something to do with the top coat. The paint comes off in sheets. Thanks, Chevy.
Woke up this morning to a light dusting of snow. In one of the other blogs I read, she reported snow in Texas of all places. I know they get ice storms down there but snow, I’m told, is a rarity. I brewed a cuppa Tetley to keep me warm while surfing the net and getting ready for church. Hope you all have a great day!
We’re getting more snow today. I thought it would be nice to show a picture of one of the many fabulous sunrises I witnessed while on my honeymoon three years ago in Cabo San Lucas, MX. I was amazed at the pinks and blues of the sunrises there. Here, we get orange, and red, and yellow.

Valentine’s Day is the only holiday that celebrates marriage between a man and a woman. People fought for, and died for, the right to marry and not live in sin.
Saint Valentine: Holy Priest of Rome: The date of this Saint Valentine’s birth is not known. Along with Saint Marius and his family, Saint Valentine assisted the martyrs during the persecution they suffered under the rule of Claudius II (also known as Claudius the Goth and Claudius the Cruel). In addition, since Rome was at the time involved in many bloody and unpopular campaigns, the emperor found it difficult to recruit the male populace into joining his military leagues. Believing this to be because Roman men were adverse to leaving their loved ones or their families, Claudius canceled all marriages and engagements within the City of Rome. Saint Valentine and Saint Marius, however, continued to perform wedding ceremonies in secret. (and was later killed for his efforts)

Let’s forget there is snow and wind outside. Come on over, come inside. You bring the cookies, and I’ll pour the tea.
We’re still getting cold and snow here in the Rockies. Unfortunately, people are dieing too, on the icy roads. Further west than where we are, on the side of the Rockies where mom nature really lets loose, they are buried! Check out Jill’s snowy posts.
By the time the storms cross the mountains and come here, they lose some of their omph. Also, with Tech Hubby and I being in the foothills, most of the snow and ick blow over and hit hard at my sister’s house and further east on the plains. Still, I’ve had quite enough, thank-you-very-much. Our snow pack in the mountains is above average ensuring us plenty of water for spring and summer-technically-in theory-I hope. So, enough already. It’s spring time in the UK and here’s proof. Check out the pictures over at, Autumn Cottage Diarist. She has proof it can’t last forever!

I’ll bet they’re tired of it too. These are deer from my mom’s neighborhood. I took this picture at the beginning of January. The momma deer are all pregnant now and showing. They have huge baby bumps.

It snowed all day yesterday. I felt like I was living inside a snow globe. We ended up with a light, fluffy snow like the kind you can buy in bags at the hobby stores to use for decoration. I’m heading over to my sister’s house to belly dance. I’ll take more pictures while I’m gone.
By the way. Nephew loved cotillion (I knew he would) he’ll probably deny it when I ask him how it went (I knew that too). Most of his football team was there, and a little girl from his class he’s been in love with since the first time they laid eyes on each other in pre-K (she loves him too).
This is a picture of how my backyard looked yesterday.

This is what the wind blew in last night while we were sleeping.

In some places along the foothills, the wind was measured at 120 miles an hour which is a force 2 hurricane. Make sure your small animals and children are inside.
