Obama is reading a book titled: The Post American World and was written by a Muslim. Hmmm. Mr. Obama, I pray you will NEVER be addressed as President!

(I had a picture of it but the code is weird and Tech Hubby is concerned about the security of it.)

It is disturbing to me to see a presidential candidate reading something about life after America is gone. We’ve been attacked so much from outsiders, it’s almost expected. Christians have been persecuted and hated for centuries. America stands as a symbol of democracy and Christianity (when liberals aren’t trying to mess things up) so those who hate freedom and democracy, and would see our country destroyed are expected to tear it down from the outside, but what if someone were trying to tear us apart from within? Our economy is tanking. How does a candidate raise $66 million in one month? Who is donating? Where does the money come from?

Please, go to this website We Will Not be Silenced 2008.

If this sort of thing (mentioned in the afore referenced website) is happening before the election can you imagine, God forbid, what would happen if he were to be elected? Even though I do not support the DNC, I do support voter freedom and abhor such tactics and nefarious activities being supported and carried out by the DNC, such as; changing voter registration guidelines to accommodate college students in Virginia, a swing state no less. The rules are there for a reason and they are there for ever one, but this is typical liberal mentality, ‘the rules do not apply to us’. Especially if those rules might get in the way of their agenda. Just look at how they have manipulated the media reporting of this election. Hardly any coverage for Ron Paul except to mock him, vilifying Sarah Palin, the extreme rudeness and condescension of Charlie Gibson towards her. it goes on and on. The media should be fined and disciplined for their biased reporting. Obama and the origins of his campaign funds and his nationality need to be investigated.

It seems that Barack Obama is not qualified to be president after all for the following reason:

Barack Obama is not legally a U.S. natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth, which falls between “December 24, 1952 to November 13, 1986.” Presidential office requires a natural-born citizen if the child was not born to two U.S. citizen parents, which of course is what exempts John McCain though he was born in the Panama Canal. US Law very clearly stipulates: “If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16.” Barack Obama’s father was not a U.S. citizen and Obama’s mother was only 18 when Obama was born, which means though she had been a U.S. citizen for 10 years, (or citizen perhaps because of Hawaii being a territory) the mother fails the test for being so for at least 5 years **prior to** Barack Obama’s birth, but *after* age 16. It doesn’t matter *after* . In essence, she was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. citizenship. At most, there were only 2 years elapsed since his mother turned 16 at the time of Barack Obama’s birth when she was 18 in Hawaii. His mother would have needed to have been 16+5= 21 years old, at the time of Barack Obama’s birth for him to have been a natural-born citizen. As aforementioned, she was a young college student at the time and was not. Barack Obama was already 3 years old at that time his mother would have needed to have waited to have him as the only U.S. Citizen parent. Obama instead should have been naturalized, but even then, that would still disqualify him from holding the office.

So many people have given their hearts and minds to this man, including those who claim to be Christians.

Please, pray for wisdom and discernment regarding the presidential candidates. None of them are perfect, who is? There is only one, however, whom the thought of being president makes my stomach churn.

White, Milk Glass hand from the historic Walker Tavern

So, now that you know what it is and have a full view of it, how would you re-purpose it? I may use it as a used tea bag holder. Or, just set it on my dresser to hold trinkets. Tell me, does it spark your imagination?

BTW, there are six more for sale right now on Ebay. if I had the money, I would so buy them!

This isn’t the type of contest where you will win the item pictured. Sorry.

I have been wanting this for a while now. Also, I keep seeing ones like it featured in magazines. Do you know what it is? If you do, how would you re-purpose it for use in your home today? I am deliberately only showing part of the photo to make it a bit more challenging to identify.

I’ll put a full picture up later.

I thought Matt Damon was the only loon that thought it a matter of dire importance that in order for Sarah Palin to be considered qualified to be v.p., or president should McCain ‘pop off’ during his imminent presidency which is HIGHLY unlikely, she had to believe dinosaurs existed millions of years ago. This is so absurd, I can barely write! I will try to persevere. Apparently, he is not alone. many a self serving, self worshiping liberal has jumped on this ridiculous band wagon. Now, Some guy Robert Paul Reyes, whoever he is, thinks that during tonight’s v.p. debate, Sarah Palin, future v.p., should be questioned on whether or not she believes in dinosaurs and when they existed.

I think the dems are panicking. The dinosaur issue and her flub while being interviewed by Katie Couric are not their only gripes against her, but right now, they are the loudest. So, Obama, who has even less experience than Palin and is running for president is a better candidate because he is a slick and charismatic public speaker? Well, that’s liberal, ‘logic’ for you.

As far as the possibility of Palin acting as president because McCain might die is unfounded and ridiculous. sure, he is a bit older, but it’s not as if the man is on life support! if anything, I think that after all he has been through, it sounds like he is tough and has a strong will to live. There have only been 2x in our history where a v.p. had to step in and take over. That is <1%!

Here are some links to stories and sites about dinosaurs and whether or not they existed at the same time as humans.

LINK 1

LINK2- contains responses to the idea of what would happen to e the theory of evolution should human remains be found in or near dinosaur remains, hint, it would not be good for evolution theorists.

LINK 3- large cat track found with dinosaur tracks. Oops, bye, bye, evolution!

LINK 4-More foot prints at The Creation Science page. I added this one so you could see how desperate evolutionists are to preserve their skewed view.

There’s a very good reason why evolution is still being called a theory.

Pink Saturday!
Posted by Melissa at 3:46 am in Blogging, Etiquette and Manners, Food, Politics, Stuff

I love Pink Saturday, and today, I have something special for you. Tell your friends! Please click the above button to visit Beverly, our hostess of Pink Saturday.

Accept My best Wishes- Ooo, whose best wishes? What could be inside this lovely, embossed and tiny (roughly 3.5″x1.5″) envelope?

Why, it’s a calling card. A man’s calling card? But, but,t he envelope, it’s so pink and pretty and girly.

I’m sure Mr. Carter, Jr. was quite manly. I also think that knowing his calling card would possibly find its way into the hands of a lady, and since flowers were all the rage during the Victorian era, I’m sure his calling card is in the grand fashion of the day.

Since calling cards often depicted the trade of the man, I would imagine that perhaps Mr. Carter was perhaps showing off the latest in calling card fashion. Maybe, if this is him. 1. Daniel C1 Carter married Charlsanna Harriett Perkins. He was buried at Maplewood Cemetery, Pulaski, Giles County, Tennessee. He was born in 1819 at South Carolina.

He was a merchant in 1860 at Pulaski, Giles County, Tennessee.

I googled the name on the card. The time period is about right for a man carrying such a calling card, especially if he is a merchant, showing off his wares. I know there must have been more than one, Daniel C. Carter, Jr. but I like to think they, the card and this man, are some how connected. I hope you have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

By the way, here is a LINK to a wonderful article on calling card etiquette.

The Last Enemy-PBS
Posted by Melissa at 5:25 pm in Activism, Media, Politics, Resources, Stuff

I hope you’ll watch The Last Enemy. It looks to be provocative since it takes a look at government surveillance in the name of national security. though it is set mostly in London, the US is also struggling with these issues. How much surveillance is too much?

Here is the link to the PBS website which has your local listings of the air times. maybe we could set up a discussion afterwards or during? I might have to break my fast for this show.

Did you know, that on his deathbed, Darwin denounced his writings and became a Christian? Yes, he did. As with all things that contradict their attempts of removing God and all forms and references to Christianity from society, there are those who say this is not true. They cannot prove it didn’t happen and they could say I cannot prove it did. Who knows what happens to the heart of a man on his death bed with eternity staring him in the face?

Did you know this is the real, full title of his work on evolution?: On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.

Emphasis mine. Hello? The favored races? Was Darwin using his research into evolution to keep the class system going and women oppressed?

UPDATE: this is my response to those giving me grief over this post; you will never, ever convince me that the earth, and all that is in it was created by a cosmic fart. Save your comments, I’m not interested.

	All things bright and beautiful,
        all creatures great and small,
        all things wise and wonderful:
the Lord God made them all.
1. Each little flower that opens,
        each little bird that sings,
        God made their glowing colors,
        and made their tiny wings.
        (Refrain)
2. The purple-headed mountains,
        the river running by,
        the sunset and the morning
        that brightens up the sky.
       (Refrain)
3. The cold wind in the winter,
        the pleasant summer sun,
the ripe fruits in the garden:
        God made them every one.
        (Refrain)
4. God gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
        how great is God Almighty,
who has made all things well.
        (Refrain)
So, my dear friend, Stacy Harp, over at
Active Christian Media steered me over to a website
called, Answers in Genesis which apparently has
more or different information concerning Darwin's
death bed conversion. Here is a link to that site so
that you may read the whole article yourself.

American Troops, Fighting Americans
Posted by Melissa at 12:09 pm in Christian Issues, Politics, Resources

So, our troops, yes the very troops our taxes support, may be used against us in the very, VERY near future. According tot he story below, some troops have been brought home, to, ‘deal’ with ‘unruly’ Americans. What constitutes as unruly is not exactly clear, but I’m thinking things are going to get ugly, folks. Please, be ready with food and water, and paper products; feminine hygiene, toilet paper, etc. for at least 6 months or so.

Here is a excerpt of the top 100 things to go first n a disaster, but it can’t hurt to check your supplies and make sure you have some of these things if you need them.

Top 100 Items to Disappear First During a National Emergency

1. Generators (Good ones cost dearly. Gas storage, risky. Noisy…target of thieves; maintenance etc.)
2. Water Filters/Purifiers
3. Portable Toilets
4. Seasoned Firewood. Wood takes about 6 - 12 months to become dried, for home uses.
5. Lamp Oil, Wicks, Lamps (First Choice: Buy CLEAR oil. If scarce, stockpile ANY!)
6. Coleman Fuel. Impossible to stockpile too much.
7. Guns, Ammunition, Pepper Spray, Knives, Clubs, Bats & Slingshots.

Nonlethal force for civil unrest

The 1st BCT (Brigade Combat Team), numbering about 650 personnel, has returned from Iraq. But rather than dealing with enemy combatants, it may be called to deal with unruly Americans. LINK TO FULL STORY
