Yesterday, parts of our area were burning. The smell of smoke was streaming in through our swamp cooler. Thankfully, it wasn’t too hot yesterday and we were able to shut it off for awhile until the smoke cleared. I turned on the t.v. to try and find out if the source of the fire was nearby, it wasn’t. Thank you, Lord! Strong winds were blowing the smoke towards us. The fire was on the other side of town. While looking for news on the fire, I stopped by the channel that shows the Oprah show. Her guests were psychiatrists who prescribe ‘erotic’ movies (read, porn) to their female clients to help free them from sexual inhibitions. Come, on! So many studies have been done about the destructive effects of pornography on people. It destroys lives. It increases crimes against the innocent, not to mention what it does to those in the industry. My heart broke when Oprah said she was neither for it, nor against it. This is a perfect example of where we are headed as a people. No one seems to want to stake a stand against anything or for anything. There IS good. There IS evil. Be strong enough to stand up against evil in all its forms.
Our government was/is supposed to be created by the people, for the people. That was all blown away when Congress held a secret meeting on March 13th of this year. Please watch the following videos and be educated about how your rights are being stripped away. Americans have enjoyed unpresidented freedoms for the last 300 or so years. If we don’t stand up for our rights, we could end up like China and North Korea.
What is REX-84?
Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, was a plan by the United States federal government to test their ability to detain large numbers of American citizens in case of massive civil unrest or national emergency. Exercises similar to Rex 84 happen periodically.[1] Plans for roundups of persons in the United States in times of crisis are constructed during periods of increased political repression such as the Palmer Raids and the McCarthy Era. For example, from 1967 to 1971 the FBI kept a list of persons to be rounded up as subversive, dubbed the “ADEX” list.[2]
According to scholar Diana Reynolds:
- The Rex-84 Alpha Explan (Readiness Exercise 1984, Exercise Plan; otherwise known as a continuity of government plan), indicates that FEMA in association with 34 other federal civil departments and agencies conducted a civil readiness exercise during April 5-13, 1984. It was conducted in coordination and simultaneously with a Joint Chiefs exercise, Night Train 84, a worldwide military command post exercise (including Continental U.S. Forces or CONUS) based on multi-emergency scenarios operating both abroad and at home. In the combined exercise, Rex-84 Bravo, FEMA and DOD led the other federal agencies and departments, including the Central Intelligence Agency, the Secret Service, the Treasury, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Veterans Administration through a gaming exercise to test military assistance in civil defense.
- The exercise anticipated civil disturbances, major demonstrations and strikes that would affect continuity of government and/or resource mobilization. To fight subversive activities, there was authorization for the military to implement government ordered movements of civilian populations at state and regional levels, the arrest of certain unidentified segments of the population, and the imposition of martial rule. [3]
Existence of a master military contingency plan, “Garden Plot” and a similar earlier exercise, “Lantern Spike” were originally revealed by journalist Ron Ridenhour, who summarized his findings in “Garden Plot and the New Action Army.”[4]
Rex 84 was mentioned during the Iran-Contra Hearings in 1987, and subsequently reported on by the Miami Herald on July 5, 1987. [5]A number of websites and alternative publications that span the political spectrum have hypothesized upon the basic material about Rex 84, and in many cases hyperbolized it into a form of urban legend or conspiracy theory. Rex 84 is sometimes cited as an extension of the fictional King Alfred Plan, a strategy to detain African Americans. Nonetheless, the basic facts about Rex 84 and other contingency planning readiness exercises–and the potential threat they pose to civil liberties if fully implemented in a real operation–are taken seriously by scholars and civil liberties activists.[6]

Every Sunday, on the way to church, Tech Hubby and I stop at the Golden Arches and buy breakfast. How very betrayed I feel that our hard earned money has been spent to support a homosexual chamber of commerce and because of their $20,000 donation to said chamber of commerce, one of McDonald’s executives now sits on the chamber’s board of directors. Guess where I won’t be having breakfast this Sunday. All you mommies out there who take your little ones to McDonald’s for a meal and to play, please think twice about spending your money at a place that takes your money and puts it into an organization which promotes the sin of homosexuality.
The founder of the American Family Association (AFA) says the McDonald’s Corporation’s refusal to be neutral in the cultural war over homosexuality has resulted in their declaration of a boycott against the popular fast-food chain. LINK here to read full story.
Church Attendance Beneficial to Marriage, Researcher Says

(CNSNews.com) - Married couples who attend church together tend to be happier than couples who rarely or never attend services, according to sociologist W. Bradford Wilcox of the University of Virginia.
Using three nationally representative surveys - the General Social Survey (GSS), the National Survey of Families and Households (NSFH), and the National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG) - Wilcox found that married church-going Americans across denominational and racial classifications were more likely to describe themselves as “very happy” than their non-religious counterparts. If you do not now what Obama has said, please take a moment to read this and be a bit more informed on what this man thinks and believes, especially if you are a Christian who is thinking about voting for him. Remember, when you vote for someone for president, you get all of their ideals and beliefs. If you agree with 10% of what he says, you are still getting 100% of his changes however unjust or unconstitutional they may be.

Barack Obama (D-Ill.) told a crowd at Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio, Sunday that he believes the Sermon on the Mount justifies his support for legal recognition of same-sex unions. He also told the crowd that his position in favor of legalized abortion does not make him “less Christian.” LINK to full story.
How very rare it is for me to read a book where each chapter I read amazes more than the one I read before. Perhaps the books I normally read, just are not old enough to entertain.
Before I get too far into this week’s review, I wanted to encourage you to listen to Pastor Mike’s podcast on Sunday’s sermon. We are on a journey through Leviticus. I enjoyed the sermon, not just because of the frog story, but because of it’s relevancy , not only in our lives in general, but because of the heart the Lord has given me for hospitality and bringing women together. One thing in particular he talked about was that heaven is community, hell is isolation. Are you living a hell on earth or a heaven? PODCAST
There is so much in this chapter, chapter four, that reached out and grabbed a hold of me, bringing to light, in my mind, recent headlines where good is called evil and evil is called good. This is scriptural but it doesn’t make it easier to see.

I believe this quote from chapter four:
-the power of pretending, even when backed by a huge majority, that he has his back to the wall. For all mobs are so far chivalrous that their heroes must make some show of misfortune-
can be so easily applied to many who are fighting on the side of darkness, for the right to live in darkness. ‘Oh, woe to us who want to sin, it is those who would keep us from sinning and keep us from tearing down a nation and breaking covenants with our actions that are the villains, not we.’
Another quote form chapter four-
Until we realize that things might not be we cannot realize that things are. Until we see the background of darkness we cannot admire the light as a single and created thing. As soon as we have seen that darkness, all light is lightening, sudden, blinding, and divine. Until we picture nonentity we underrate the victory of God, and can realize none of the trophies of His ancient war. It is one of the million wild jests of truth that we know nothing until we know nothing,
And last, but not least.-

and encourage you today, if you have never accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and savior, here is what is means to do so.
- We acknowledge that Jesus Christ is God; that He came to earth as a man in order to live the sinless life that we cannot live; that He died in our place, so that we would not have to pay the penalty we deserve.
- We confess our past life of sin — living for ourselves and not obeying God.
- We admit we are ready to trust Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.
- We ask Jesus to come into our heart, take up residence there, and begin living through us.
And this is a prayer you can pray that will change your life.
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. Once again, Muslims are some how able to circumvent the laws in a nation, gaining special treatments outside of that nations laws that actually allow the Muslims to commit crimes against other non-Muslim citizens in the name of their religion. Some how, it is now a hate crime (I hate that phrase) to evangelize to Muslims in designated, ‘Muslim areas’. The Muslims in Britain have their own ‘area’?! Here is the LINK to the story.
While watching a news story on One News Now I was appalled to hear President Bush say in a sound bite (1:40) in an attempt to show his concern for the flood victims in the Midwest that he ‘hope they are able to find some strength, knowing there is a love from a ‘Higher Being’. Really, and what ‘Higher Being’ might that be Mr. President? Is it Higher Being with capital letters or higher being? See, there is a difference. Is the president incapable of acknowledging the Lord, the One True God even after professing to be a Christian and after he knows he won on the votes of Christians? Is our nation becoming so hobbled by pressure to be p.c. that a person can’t feel comfortable in saying the word God with a capital G?
