I know that sentence is a bit awkward, but work with me here.
In my opinion, Papillions are the best dog bred ever! yes, they have their issues, but pound for pound, you will not find a dog with more heart and personality. Why am I saying this? Well, why not give the gift of companionship to yourself or a loved one and adopt a rescue dog or be a foster parent? My sister has a pappy, Girl Rocket. I love that dog as if she were my own. She is protective, a create first alert alarm system, loyal and a great companion. these dogs love to go on walks and they are especially great companion dogs. If you work from home, and feel cooped up and need the furry presence of a love able dog to keep you company and help you reach your fitness goals, consider giving a pappy a much needed home.
Here are some rescue links.
Unbeknownst to me because I just didn’t keep that close of tabs on my Google AdSense, I was displaying ads for the Obama campaign. Ack! naive me thought Google would only display ads for the things I entered I said I wanted ads for, not knowing they would add whatever tickled their fancy. Could be an error on my part, maybe there was some fine print I missed somewhere. Now I know and now I’ve done something about it. I’ve canceled my AdSense account. Please consider it too if you are seeing ads for things you didn’t want up there, especially if they are for the Obama campaign.
What would you do if tomorrow, you went to your bank and it had a sign taped to the door, which is locked and chained, which read: CLOSED. Or you went to the ATM and you couldn’t withdraw any money? This has already happened to some banks. Yes, banks are supposed to be insured by the FDIC, but there is not enough money to bail them all out, so now what? Do you have enough food and cash on hand in case of an emergency? What would you do if/when martial law is declared. Some say it will happen in October before the election.
Martial law is the system of rules that takes effect when the military takes control of the normal administration of justice.
Martial law is sometimes imposed during wars or occupations in the absence of any other civil government. Examples of this form of military rule include Germany and Japan after World War II or the American South during the early stages of Reconstruction. In addition it is used by governments to enforce their rule, for example after a coup d’état (Thailand 2006), when threatened by popular protests (Tiananmen Square protests of 1989), or to crack down on the opposition (Poland 1981). Martial law can also be declared in cases of major natural disasters; however most countries use a different legal construct, such as a “state of emergency“.
In many countries, martial law imposes particular rules, one of which is curfew. Often, under this system, the administration of justice is left to a military tribunal, called a court-martial. The suspension of the writ of habeas corpus is likely to occur.
To read more about martial law, LINK here.
Not just in the case of martial law, but any natural disaster can cause situations where you could be stuck without food and water and supplies.
Do you have enough supplies to last you and your family for at least six months? What about your neighbors? What a great way to glorify the Lord and to be a witness to others when you are able to share with the unprepared. It wouldn’t take much to store some extra. This may sound odd in the tight economic times in which we live, but follow along with me. Each time you go to the grocery store, pick up non-perishables such as powdered milk, potatoes, rice, pasta, canned meats, veggies, sauces and soups. Buy alcohol, such as vodka, which can be used for many things including disinfectant (in a pinch), fuel, and bartering, should the need arise. Stock up on feminine hygiene, toilet paper, first aid items, and any medications you or your family will need. Freeze what foods you can. Have candles, batteries and blankets available. Buy water filtering devices as well as stocking up on extra water. One gallon per person per day.
What if churches were forced to close down? Not too many of them today are how churches were in the past. I don’t think too many people think of their church as a place to go, or rely upon in a crisis. What would you do if your church closed and there was no place to worship. Would there be someone in your neighborhood on whom you could rely to be a spiritual leader? Why not you? Draw near to God. Read the word. Know your bible. Be a source of light in whatever darkness may come.
I do not want to panic anyone or cause you to live in fear. I do think being prepared is biblical. Being prepared for others is Godly. With businesses closing down without prior notice to their employees and banks folding, it’s a good idea to have your mind on the future and to plan for the worse but hope (and pray) for the best.
September is National Preparedness Month.

Denver police have taken 100 protesters into custody after ordering them to disperse and spraying them with pepper spray from cannons.
The action happened last night but more details have emerged this morning. LINK to full story.
I love going blog hopping. I get to meet so many wonderful ladies who love tea, and who love the Lord. I enjoy reading about the things that stretch and challenge their faith and how they have over come life’s, ‘curve balls’. If so much can be gained from a blog subtly, how much more would be gained with boldness? One of my favorite and most challenging verses form the bible is:
Revelation 21:8 But cowardly, unfaithful, and detestable people, murderers, sexual sinners, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will find themselves in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
No cowards in heaven. None. There is so much going on out there in the world, it’s easy to be afraid, to sit back and keep quiet and let others speak for us. Feeling the fear and stepping out in faith is not being a coward. We Christians founded this nation. Our legal system, our school systems, everything exists because we wanted a better life for ourselves and here we are letting the; ‘unfaithful, and detestable people’, take it away from us.
If there is something you feel passionately about, why not write about it on your blog? Think the government needs to mind its own business and allow you to home school your children? Write about it. Tired of high gas and food prices? Write about. Found a story somewhere else on line that is not being reported in American media, like how in other countries Muslims hold up signs that say, ‘Death to Americans’ and burn American flags but none of our media reports about it? Write about it. We’re women. We love to talk. Even if the all don’t leave a comment, hundreds to thousands of people visit your blog everyday. you could change someone’s life with your words. Why be silent?
here are two great lady bloggers I’d like you to visit for a taste of what I’m talking about. You don’t have to have serious topics everyday, and I do enjoy reading about projects and vacations, but please, think about what I’ve said and give it serious consideration. History had always been susceptible to change at the hands of a woman. Be that woman.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss this more. I’m think a group of tea loving Christian lady activists is a great idea and we need to band together.
Now on the Hallmark aisle: Gay marriage cards
Thursday August 21, 5:10 pm ET
By Sarah Skidmore, AP Business Writer
Hallmark, seeing a new market after California ruling, rolls out gay marriage greeting cards PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Most states don’t recognize gay marriage — but now Hallmark does.
The nation’s largest greeting card company is rolling out same-sex wedding cards — featuring two tuxedos, overlapping hearts or intertwined flowers, with best wishes inside. “Two hearts. One promise,” one says.

Did you know that Alaska is about 58 MILLION acres big. 58 Million. Let that sink in for a minute. Now, in Alaska, there is a huge oil reserve. Yes, it’s huge, but it is ONLY roughly 2 million acres out of 58 million. Two. Our fuel has been held hostage by environmental terrorists. I despise environmental terrorists. Why? Because unless they are growing their own food, clothes and riding horses everywhere or walking, they are hypocrites. It is not just fuel that consumes energy folks. If you wear any items of clothing for which you are not producing the raw materials, you are consuming raw energy and resources in the manufacturing and shipping of those clothes. Unless you grow your own food, you are consuming raw energy in the growing and shipping of everything you eat, and use in America. You simply cannot get away from it. So, while enviro. terrorists wag their fingers at everyone else and try to keep us from using our own natural resources, other countries are stealing our supplies.
So, FINALLY, the Interior Dept. has opened up 2.6 million acres for drilling. Woohoo! Oh, and while our lovely enrivo. terrorists keep us from using our own resources via off shore drilling, China is stealing our oil. See, China doesn’t care if we use our oil or not, it’s just more for them. So while we’re all lighting candles and singing Kum-bye-ah over spotted owls and sacrificing our fuel because of hysteria over destroying the environment, China positions oil crews just beyond our borders and sucks up our much needed resources. That, my dears, is messed up! If there is going to be drilling for oil off our shores, it should be we who are doing the drilling. America must once again become self sustaining. We are too dependent on other nations for food, fuel and manufacturing.
America is again in a battle for her independence. Independence from foreign dependence.
Our government was/is supposed to be created by the people, for the people. That was all blown away when Congress held a secret meeting on March 13th of this year. Please watch the following videos and be educated about how your rights are being stripped away. Americans have enjoyed unpresidented freedoms for the last 300 or so years. If we don’t stand up for our rights, we could end up like China and North Korea.
What is REX-84?
Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, was a plan by the United States federal government to test their ability to detain large numbers of American citizens in case of massive civil unrest or national emergency. Exercises similar to Rex 84 happen periodically.[1] Plans for roundups of persons in the United States in times of crisis are constructed during periods of increased political repression such as the Palmer Raids and the McCarthy Era. For example, from 1967 to 1971 the FBI kept a list of persons to be rounded up as subversive, dubbed the “ADEX” list.[2]
According to scholar Diana Reynolds:
- The Rex-84 Alpha Explan (Readiness Exercise 1984, Exercise Plan; otherwise known as a continuity of government plan), indicates that FEMA in association with 34 other federal civil departments and agencies conducted a civil readiness exercise during April 5-13, 1984. It was conducted in coordination and simultaneously with a Joint Chiefs exercise, Night Train 84, a worldwide military command post exercise (including Continental U.S. Forces or CONUS) based on multi-emergency scenarios operating both abroad and at home. In the combined exercise, Rex-84 Bravo, FEMA and DOD led the other federal agencies and departments, including the Central Intelligence Agency, the Secret Service, the Treasury, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Veterans Administration through a gaming exercise to test military assistance in civil defense.
- The exercise anticipated civil disturbances, major demonstrations and strikes that would affect continuity of government and/or resource mobilization. To fight subversive activities, there was authorization for the military to implement government ordered movements of civilian populations at state and regional levels, the arrest of certain unidentified segments of the population, and the imposition of martial rule. [3]
Existence of a master military contingency plan, “Garden Plot” and a similar earlier exercise, “Lantern Spike” were originally revealed by journalist Ron Ridenhour, who summarized his findings in “Garden Plot and the New Action Army.”[4]
Rex 84 was mentioned during the Iran-Contra Hearings in 1987, and subsequently reported on by the Miami Herald on July 5, 1987. [5]A number of websites and alternative publications that span the political spectrum have hypothesized upon the basic material about Rex 84, and in many cases hyperbolized it into a form of urban legend or conspiracy theory. Rex 84 is sometimes cited as an extension of the fictional King Alfred Plan, a strategy to detain African Americans. Nonetheless, the basic facts about Rex 84 and other contingency planning readiness exercises–and the potential threat they pose to civil liberties if fully implemented in a real operation–are taken seriously by scholars and civil liberties activists.[6]

Here are quotes from some of our founding fathers on the Fourth of July, independence, and thanksgiving. For all of you who beat the drum of separation of church and state (which is NOT in the constitution so stop calling the constitutional separation of church and state!) Please take note of all the references to God Almighty. The One, the only, God of America.
In 1776, John Adams declared, “The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epocha in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore.”
The Council has thought meet to appoint and set apart the 29th day of this instant June, as a day of Solemn Thanksgiving and praise to God for such his Goodness and Favour, many Particulars of which mercy might be Instanced, but we doubt not those who are sensible of God’s Afflictions, have been as diligent to espy him returning to us; and that the Lord may behold us as a People offering Praise and thereby glorifying Him; the Council doth commend it to the Respective Ministers, Elders and people of this Jurisdiction; Solemnly and seriously to keep the same Beseeching that being perswaded by the mercies of God we may all, even this whole people offer up our bodies and soulds as a living and acceptable Service unto God by Jesus Christ.”-George Washington.
“We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We’ve staked the future of all our political institutions upon our capacity…to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”
James Madison, 1778 to the General Assembly of the State of Virginia
America was built on the ten commandments, not forced diversity, tolerance and political correctness.- Melissa Bishop
“ The Law given from Sinai [The Ten Commandments] was a civil and municipal as well as a moral and religious code.”
John Quincy Adams. Letters to his son. p. 61
“All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery
and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible.”
Noah Webster. History. p. 339
William Bradford
• wrote that they [the Pilgrims] were seeking:
• 1) “a better, and easier place of living”; and that “the children of the group were being drawn away by evil examples into extravagance and dangerous courses [in Holland]“
• 2) “The great hope, and for the propagating and advancing the gospel of the kingdom of Christ in those remote parts of the world”
The Mayflower Compact (authored by William Bradford) 1620 | Signing of the Mayflower painting | Picture of Compact
“Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God, and one of another, covenant and combine our selves together…”
(The children of the group were being drawn away by evil examples into extravagance and dangerous courses…)
This sounds a great deal like what we are going through today. How many times must history repeat itself before we get it right?
John Adams and John Hancock:
We Recognize No Sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus! [April 18, 1775]
John Adams:
“ The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principals of Christianity… I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.”
• “[July 4th] ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.”
–John Adams in a letter written to Abigail on the day the Declaration was approved by Congress
“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” –October 11, 1798
“I have examined all religions, as well as my narrow sphere, my straightened means, and my busy life, would allow; and the result is that the Bible is the best Book in the world. It contains more philosophy than all the libraries I have seen.” December 25, 1813 letter to Thomas Jefferson
“Without Religion this World would be Something not fit to be mentioned in polite Company, I mean Hell.” [John Adams to Thomas Jefferson, April 19, 1817] |
Samuel Adams: | Portrait of Sam Adams |
John, John Quincy, and Sam Adams
“ He who made all men hath made the truths necessary to human happiness obvious to all… Our forefathers opened the Bible to all.” [ "American Independence," August 1, 1776. Speech delivered at the State House in Philadelphia]
“ Let divines and philosophers, statesmen and patriots, unite their endeavors to renovate the age by impressing the minds of men with the importance of educating their little boys and girls, inculcating in the minds of youth the fear and love of the Deity… and leading them in the study and practice of the exalted virtues of the Christian system.” [October 4, 1790]
This one especially rings true.
John Quincy Adams:
• “Why is it that, next to the birthday of the Savior of the world, your most joyous and most venerated festival returns on this day [the Fourth of July]?” “Is it not that, in the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior? That it forms a leading event in the progress of the Gospel dispensation? Is it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer’s mission upon earth? That it laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity”?
–1837, at the age of 69, when he delivered a Fourth of July speech at Newburyport, Massachusetts.
Could someone please send KBIQ, Q102.7 some money so that our supposed to be Christian radio station doesn’t have to run anti-Dobson ads to keep the lights on?
