I dressed up as Marie Antoinette last night to hand out candy. The reactions were fabulous. I should have been video taping them! The moms and dads would be standing in our driveway while the tykes came up and rang our bell. With as grand a swoosh as I could master, I opened the door. Gasps of surprise would greet me with exclamations of, ‘it’s a princess!’ Okay, so yeah, she was at one time but I was the much older, more mature M.A. Two little girls were t-o-t-ing together, both were dressed as princesses. As they left, I heard one tell her momma, ‘when I grow up, I want a dress just like that!’
Here’s the final look. Don’t know if you can tell, but I have three mushroom doves in my hair, a silk flower and a pink and clear crystal necklace. I intertwined metallic silver ribbon over French blue ribbon through eyelet lace to form a choker. Yes, this dreamy confection is my wedding dress. I had some really kickin’ shoes to wear with it, but ultimately had to walk down the aisle in my socks because I broke the pinkie toe on my right foot…twice before the wedding. Just as it was healing ,and it looked as if I would be able to walk down the aisle in my pretty silver, glitter shoes, WHAM-O! I hit it again. the pink i n my pink Saturday? Why all of that pink blush and eye makeup of course!
Here are the sleeves. They make me so happy just looking at them!
Not only does powdering your hair cause major static electricity, it also takes the curl out! I was trying to go for a cute banana curl on my left, but it ended up collapsing under the weight and dryness of the powder.
Also, tomorrow, though I’m posting it early, Joy Jones, over at Cupids Charms is hosting a Marie Antoinette soirée tomorrow to celebrate Marie’s birthday.
Why not sashay on over and see what it’s all about? It looks like a great deal of fun. I can hardly wait to the everyone else’s posts.
Ladies, for a bit more fun, scroll down just a bit and check out my Oct. 27th post of Marie. There are hair how to’s and more fun M.A. pics.
