To see my Pink Saturday post, scroll down, it’s the post after this one. There’s just too much political stuff coming across my desk right now to be ignored any longer. I pray, that even if you only came here for P.S., that you’ll stay and read some of my political posts.

I know we are all concerned about the economy, it’s been on the lips of every person I’ve talked to over the last few weeks. We must, as Christians, make sure we are voting with more than our money on our minds. We must also vote to protect those who cannot speak for themselves, the unborn. Mr. Dobson brings up a good point about Obama. Obama, believes in and supports, partial birth abortions which is just a glossy way of saying he believes in killing babies. When asked about this in the Saddleback church debate against McCain, Obama tap danced around giving a real answer saying, Senator Obama: “… Answering that question with specificity, you know, is, uh, is, above my pay grade.”2-

How tasteless to make a joke about such a horrendous act. Obama’s voting record clearly shows he has no consideration for life in the womb.

Sarah Palin has acquired more experience as a mayor and governor than Obama has as a senator, and he is running for president!

Obama supports the homosexual agenda:

Congressional Democrats will also seek to pass the Employment Nondiscrimination Act, meaning businesses will be forced to accept and condone homosexuality–and possibly transgenderism–in making employment decisions. Further, business owners, including religious businesses, will not be able to make hiring and firing decisions based on their religious convictions. Earlier this year, Senator Barack Obama said, “I will place the weight of my administration behind the enactment of the Matthew Shepherd Act to outlaw hate crimes and a fully inclusive Employment Nondiscrimination Act.”

(don’t you think the phrase, ‘hate crimes’ is redundant?) I’ve never heard of a ‘love crime’. -Melissa

Here is a link to Dr. Dobson’s newsletter. He is writing about the presidential candidates. I hope you will go and read the whole thing, even if you have made your mind up to vote for Obama. The newsletter, among other topics, goes on to discuss issues with the supreme court under Obama’s presidency, God help us, and his tax proposals which smack of socialism, something no nation can afford but especially us with the way the economy is now and where it looks to be headed in the future. Pink Saturday

My post today is about my sister’s dog, Girl Rocket. Yes, such an unfortunate name, but she was named by my nephew. Rocket was brought into the family as bear bait, literally. Well, more an early warning device than bait since she is much faster than the boy. There are bears in Colorado, right in town. One summer in particular was very bad for bears and my sis had a momma and her cubs hanging out in her back yard, playing on the swing set (much to the dismay of my nephew-’look! look!’) he would shout through his pacifier pointing at his swing set looking around in expectation that someone would chase the baby bruins off. Yeah, right! Dream on Short Stack. Enter Rocket, the heart of our families. Some how, my nephew saw in her great potential for speed, at an age when she could barely take two steps without falling over face first. He just knew that some day she would be fast. She is. Every time I see her running, the theme from Bonanza goes through my head. She is naughty, bossy, sassy and fiercely loyal and protective. She has bitten more people than my friend’s bull terriers, they have bit no one! This little dog, 12 pounds of fluff, rules her house with an iron paw. She is also the loviest little thing you’ve ever met. If you are crying, she will come over and comfort you. She is a snuggler, and a bed hog. She steals her snacks from the pantry, tea from your glass, and food off the table when she thinks no one is looking. She is prissy and dainty, tough but tender.

Today, my pink Saturday is about her cute pink ears. So soft and velvety.

and her soft pink tongue which loves tea and scones.

Papillions are companion dogs which translates to- needy. If you are very lonely, and do not have small children around (they do NOT like kids, ironic I know but now that the nephew is older, it’s working out better) she hardly ever bites him any more and he deserved every one, trust me. lol

pappies are great dogs for ladies but also, interestingly enough, they are ‘gun’ dogs which means you can take them hunting just like the bigger bird dogs and such. They are curious and like to go for walks. They are high energy and very protective. you know where every leaf in the neighborhood is with a dog like this!

Why so much about pappies today? Here are some links to pappy rescue sites. If you are looking for a little dog with a big personality to add joy and life to you and your home, pappies are great!
