  • PhotobucketIt’s Pink Saturday. Please visit the blog of our lovely hostess, Beverly by clicking on the doll pictures above. Thanks! Remember, my camera is acting up, so everything has a jaundice hue which I’m trying to correct in GIMP which is the photoshop of the opensource world.
I have eight of these cute dessert plates. Four are these vintage couture plates and four are Paris post cards. They were not come all in the same box, but I love how they all go together, kind of. The second picture is more correct hue wise.
Happy Pink Saturday everyone and thank you for all the lovely comments last time. Oh, here is the recipe for the shortbread cookies you see in the first picture. No, they will not come out of the oven looking yellow! lol
Tea Flavored Tea Bisquits
2 C all purpose flour
2 TBS finely ground tea (I used four bags of, jasmine green/black tea)
1/2 tsp of salt (next time I make these, I will reduce to 1/4 tsp)
1 C (2 sticks) softened butter (un-salted)
1/2 C confectioner’s sugar, sifted
1/4 tsp vanilla (this is optional. It does over power the flavor of the tea leaves. I’m going to make this recipe again w/o the vanilla)
Depending on what type of tea you use, grate some orange peel into the butter/sugar part coming up if you want. The original recipe was made with Earl Grey and used grated orange peel.
In small to medium bowl, cream together the butter, powdered sugar (confectioner’s sugar) vanilla, if using, and/or orange peel. Set aside. In another, separate bowl, combine the four, tea and salt. Gradually add the flour/tea mix to the butter/sugar mix until just incorporated. Divide the dough and roll into two, even logs and refrigerate for an hour until firm. Slice into one inch pieces and bake ina pre-heated 350 oven for 13-15 minutes.
Enjoy!
