I know that sentence is a bit awkward, but work with me here.

In my opinion, Papillions are the best dog bred ever! yes, they have their issues, but pound for pound, you will not find a dog with more heart and personality. Why am I saying this? Well, why not give the gift of companionship to yourself or a loved one and adopt a rescue dog or be a foster parent? My sister has a pappy, Girl Rocket. I love that dog as if she were my own. She is protective, a create first alert alarm system, loyal and a great companion. these dogs love to go on walks and they are especially great companion dogs. If you work from home, and feel cooped up and need the furry presence of a love able dog to keep you company and help you reach your fitness goals, consider giving a pappy a much needed home.

Be Careful of The Wishes You Make!

Nikki, over at The Scarlett Rose Garden has a flair for creating gorgeous, vintage hairdos. In one particular post, she wore Goody Pillow rollers. I went out and bought two boxes, just in case one box didn’t roll all my hair. My hair normally falls just below my bra strap. I say normally because, well, here is a picture of what happened when I rolled my hair last night and woke up this morning and took out the rollers.

My hair is normally, 5-6 inches longer than what is pictured. THAT’S how curly my hair is today!

Ack! It’s curly! I had to put it in a clip, which you can see in the first picture. The first couple of times I rolled my hair in the pillow rollers, I got nice, loose curls the first time and waves the next. I love rolling my hair because it lasts for a couple of days and gives it body and style without much effort. The first two times I rolled it, I did it later in the day and at night so my hair was still a bit wet and heavy when I took the rollers out the next day. This time, I wanted more curl (be careful what you wish for!) so I used different product, and my hair was drier when I rolled it, and I rolled it earlier in the day. I got my curls! Now what do I do with them? lol

See how nice Nikki’s hair turned out in her photos? Hopefully mine will relax a bit in time for church tomorrow.

UPDATE! the curls are just the way I wanted them this morning, loose and lovely. Nikki, from The Scarlett Rose Garden, has a response in my comments on how to loosen the curls on the first day when you take our hair out of the rollers. Hee! and cheerleader hair. rofl!

In the spring, a young man’s thoughts might turn to love, but in the fall, my thoughts turn to… BAKING!
Yes, it’s baking time. Hear ye, hear ye! It is time to get thee some flour, butter and sugar and follow me!
The following recipe is not mine. It comes from the blog of the lovely, and talented Tartelette
I did make some changes:I added 1/4 tsp of almond oil and one drop of red food color and I cut the recipe in half. I’m not going to post the recipe here because I really want you to visit Tartelette. It’s worth the, ‘drive’ from my blog to hers. She is very talented in the kitchen and is also writing a cook book.
Ingredients:flour, powdered sugar, egg whites, butter, almond extract, food coloring if desired. Sorry for the yellow hue. My camera is messed up. If anyone works for Canon and wants me to try their product (for free of course) and write about it extensively, you just let me know! lol
My high tech sifting system.
Now for the batter…
Ack! It’s pink! Well, yes, it IS pink Saturday.
The finished product. Prior to placing cookies into the oven, I mashed slices of almonds into the wet batter. I had to add flour to my batter, could be because of the high altitude. This may be the reason they turned out a bit sponge as you’re not supposed to over blend the batter. They smell and taste great and the pink color makes them ultra girly, like me!
