Sheesh! I can’t believe I forgot all about tea Tuesday! Here is something about tea that I did not know.
The phrase “Tea for Two” didn’t originate with the 1925 song of the same name. Tea for two originally was called out in the marketplace…it was an offer of tea for two pence — not for two people. Huh? Read more HERE.
I did not know that. I think it is very interesting, and what a great deal on tea and a tuppence. No, I’m not getting any kick backs from this tea company. That would be nice! lol ‘Thanks for mentioning us on your blog, here’s a sample of tea for you.’
In the mail on Saturday, I received my Collectible Teapot Calendar and a new tea book titled: Jasmine Nights & Monkey Pluck: Love, Discovery, and Tea. It is a book filled with a collection of short stories and poems about tea, written by women.
What’s in your cuppa this tea Tuesday? Tell me what, if anything, you are drinking.
Here is a web site for my coffee loving friends. Morning Coffee & Afternoon Tea.

I bought the skirt, bottom left, ( it’s a medium, I am not) to sell on Ebay. then they went and changed everything and I no longer like the way they do business. If you like it, make me an offer. Happy Blue Monday!
So, I had a copyright infringement incident over the weekend. Some of my friends in blog land have experienced awful situations regarding their work being stolen. I am so happy to report that the person in this situation was very receptive to what I had to say and said she would change her post. You just never know what kind of reaction you’ll get form people, and I must admit I came on a bit strong in my email to her. I think more because I didn’t want to do the mountains of paperwork this sort of thing involves than being hurt or offended over what had happened. I really, REALLY wanted her to see the light before the situation escalated to paperwork. Since mine was not the only article copied in full, I choose to believe it was a simple matter of misunderstanding. I have made mistakes in the past regarding copyright issues. Hey, it’s a live and learn kind of world. I get it.
So peace to the gal, she seems nice, and I wish her well in her blogging endeavors and rainbows and ponies to boot!
So, Tech hubby and I were treated to lunch at the Black Eyed Pea by our home group/church friends. My goodness. I have not seen so much blue hair since I went to Furr’s Cafeteria. I was in granny land! I love watching older couples. there’s just some thing about older people that makes we warm and fuzzy on the inside.
After lunch we went to the gianto store where you buy everything in bulk. We shopped with the same friends with whom we had lunch. I’m beat!
Have a great weekend everyone! Don’t forget your free card.
p.s. Would some one please make a cup of tea for me and bring me a cookie with it? Two lumps, no milk, no lemon. Thanks!
I added a Flickr badge. If you love tea, Flickr has a large selection of tea photos to satisfy your thirst for beautiful tea photography. Also, Kimberly Shaw has a Flickr account and you get to view the cards she is working on before they are released to the public to buy. I love her story (which is on Flickr) of how she was, ‘discovered’ and now her cards are being sold all over the place. Woohoo!
Okay, now some one please do that for my writing. yes, that’s it, thank you!
Do you know the person growing your food?
I got up early and went to the farmer’s market. I wasn’t sure how much longer it would be going on since the days are getting shorter and much cooler. I was assured the market would go into October. Woohoo! I’m wondering if I should buy some bees wax and attempt to dip my own candles? Hmmm, I’ll have to think about that one. For $14.00 I picked up the following items, contributing to the local economy (which cuts down on fuel consumption and costs) and helping to keep (hopefully) local farmers in business.
4 onions
4 round zucchini thingys. They look like lttle green pumpkins and have strips on them.
1 bag of roasted Anaheim chilies I took home and used to make chili rellenos using pork rinds as a substitute for the flour. Yeah, it was wacky but good. I doctored it up and Tech Hubby loved it.
1 giant almond croissant. Oh yeah, it’s gonzo!
1 bottle of orange blossom honey.
1 cantelope
1 large coconut macaroon cookie
1 spaghetti squash the man whole sold it to me said that the day after he cooks his, he makes ‘hash browns’ out of the left overs. You know I’m going to have to try this!
and last, but not least,
2 cloves of garlic
Click HERE for a chili relleno recipe which does not use pork rinds.
The first 3 people to leave a comment on this post, will receive a free, ‘No Farms, No Food’ sticker form me. The rest of you will have to go HERE if you want one.
Tech Hubby and I cannot use our condo week in Cabo this year. You’ve seen pictures of it in sky watch Friday. You too, can wake up to beautiful sunrises from your private balcony. $800.00 gets you one week in a studio condo within walking distance of,the Office, a well known restaurant on the beach. The studio sleeps a total of 4 people, 2 in the bed and two in the pull out couch/bed. This is not an all inclusive resort. It is within walking distance of the marina and down town Cabo San Lucas, MX. Please let me know no late than Oct 10th. We can work out the details. This is a floating week, we usually go the first week in December. Here are some pictures to motivate you.
I love Pink Saturday, and today, I have something special for you. Tell your friends! Please click the above button to visit Beverly, our hostess of Pink Saturday.
Accept My best Wishes- Ooo, whose best wishes? What could be inside this lovely, embossed and tiny (roughly 3.5″x1.5″) envelope?
Why, it’s a calling card. A man’s calling card? But, but,t he envelope, it’s so pink and pretty and girly.
I’m sure Mr. Carter, Jr. was quite manly. I also think that knowing his calling card would possibly find its way into the hands of a lady, and since flowers were all the rage during the Victorian era, I’m sure his calling card is in the grand fashion of the day.
Since calling cards often depicted the trade of the man, I would imagine that perhaps Mr. Carter was perhaps showing off the latest in calling card fashion. Maybe, if this is him. 1. Daniel C1 Carter married Charlsanna Harriett Perkins. He was buried at Maplewood Cemetery, Pulaski, Giles County, Tennessee. He was born in 1819 at South Carolina.
He was a merchant in 1860 at Pulaski, Giles County, Tennessee.
I googled the name on the card. The time period is about right for a man carrying such a calling card, especially if he is a merchant, showing off his wares. I know there must have been more than one, Daniel C. Carter, Jr. but I like to think they, the card and this man, are some how connected. I hope you have a wonderful Pink Saturday!
By the way, here is a LINK to a wonderful article on calling card etiquette.

You meet the nicest people in blog land. I started my blog in August of last year, this is my 500th post! Aside from the fact I like to write a lot and I have much to say, my blog has been a wonderful gift to myself. I have made friendships, been blessed and my blog has blessed others which is, perhaps, the greatest achievement one can hope for, to impact the lives of others in a positive way. I have been, ‘lucky’ with the quality of persons who visit my blog. Wonderful people with kind hearts and generous natures. One such person, is Kimberly Shaw, of Kimberly Shaw graphics. Yes, she’s the lady that makes those great tea cards we all love so much.
She has generously allowed me to offer a free card in celebration of my 500th blog post. If you would like a FREE card, yes, she even pays for the cost to mail it to you, then head on over to her site and ask for one. Make sure you mention that you saw this offer on my blog, Melissa’s Cozy Teacup. We are all curious to see how many people take Kimberly up on her offer of a free card.
Thank you for stopping by! Happy sipping!
UPDATE! I am so excited about how many of you are ‘going for’ the free card. Kimberly was excited to offer it as a blessing to you, and to me by allowing me to offer something to you on my momentous occasion.
So please, go and get your free card! Thanks!
I hope you’ll watch The Last Enemy. It looks to be provocative since it takes a look at government surveillance in the name of national security. though it is set mostly in London, the US is also struggling with these issues. How much surveillance is too much?
Here is the link to the PBS website which has your local listings of the air times. maybe we could set up a discussion afterwards or during? I might have to break my fast for this show.
Did you know, that on his deathbed, Darwin denounced his writings and became a Christian? Yes, he did. As with all things that contradict their attempts of removing God and all forms and references to Christianity from society, there are those who say this is not true. They cannot prove it didn’t happen and they could say I cannot prove it did. Who knows what happens to the heart of a man on his death bed with eternity staring him in the face?
Did you know this is the real, full title of his work on evolution?: On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.
Emphasis mine. Hello? The favored races? Was Darwin using his research into evolution to keep the class system going and women oppressed?

UPDATE: this is my response to those giving me grief over this post; you will never, ever convince me that the earth, and all that is in it was created by a cosmic fart. Save your comments, I’m not interested.
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful: the Lord God made them all. 1. Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, God made their glowing colors, and made their tiny wings. (Refrain) 2. The purple-headed mountains, the river running by, the sunset and the morning that brightens up the sky. (Refrain) 3. The cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun, the ripe fruits in the garden: God made them every one. (Refrain) 4. God gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell how great is God Almighty, who has made all things well. (Refrain) So, my dear friend, Stacy Harp, over at Active Christian Media steered me over to a website called, Answers in Genesis which apparently has more or different information concerning Darwin's death bed conversion. Here is a link to that site so that you may read the whole article yourself.
