Don’t Forget Your Black Tea

She, orders a light salad with a light dressing, skips dessert and washes it all down with an iced green tea concoction. He, orders the steak with bleu cheese crumbles, Caesar salad, and finishes off the meal with several cups of strong black tea. Are they both making healthy choices? Yes and no. His diet is higher in fat (and for me, much more enjoyable)and it is easy to think he could drop dead any minute from coronary heart disease caused by blocked arteries.

Green and white teas, as wonderful as they are, are not the only teas with health benefits and in some cases, black tea can be better for a person than either a white or green tea. Black tea has a great cleansing effect on high fat diets. While I am in no way advocating that black tea is a ‘get out of a by-pass free card’, following up a high fat meal with a few cuppas of strong black tea can help clean out some of the damage done during dinner. Here is a LINK to the research article. Another LINK. I am not in any way promoting Black Tea Extract. I prefer to get my nutrients from their original source. I just thought the science was interesting.
