Why I think P.E.T.A. is the LAMEST

Eight Belles raced against the boys in the Kentucky Derby and came in second. That is a huge accomplishment. Unfortunately, her victory will be forever overshadowed by the fact that both of her front ankles snapped AFTER she crossed the finish line and what’s even worse is that her achievement will be cheapened by PETA.’s bullying of the owner’s and trainers of Eight Belles claiming that the jockey’s actions some how caused the horses ankles to break. What?

“What we really want to know, did he feel anything along the way?” PETA spokeswoman Kathy Guillermo said. “If he didn’t then we can probably blame the fact that they’re allowed to whip the horses mercilessly.”

Huh? Okaaaay, it is called proof reading and someone needs to have a little help with it. Eight Belles’ death was a tragedy, there is no denying it, however, the vet is on camera stating that the horse was coming out of the gallop and slowing down which means she was no longer running fast and hard. The race and the hard and heavy running were over. She collapsed a quarter of a mile after crossing the finish line. So in this midst of emotion and triumph, tragedy and great accomplishment, we have PETA, barking up the wrong tree like one of those nasty dogs that’s always sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong. I think PETA should be ignored. I mean really, what sort of authority do they have over the owner of this horse? None. If I were the owner of Eight Belles, I would not give PETA the time of day.
