This medallion was made by Josiah Wedgwood. Yes, THAT Josiah Wedgwood.

I did not see this movie in the theatre. I just, yesterday, rented it from the library. I had goose bumps for most of the movie. I never knew the song, Amazing Grace was written by a former captain of a slave ship. This slave ship captain dedicated the rest of his life to God after surviving a terrible storm at sea that almost destroyed his ship. This man was a mentor to the man, William Wilberforce, responsible for abolishing slavery in England. Mr. Wilberforce spent his entire adult life (quite literally as the bill ending slavery passed three days before his death at the age of 74) fighting for the end to slavery. It is amazing what one person may do with their life if they heed the voice of God. Even if your obedience to God doesn’t result it something as monumental as the end of slavery, what He has you do still glorifies Him and improves the lives of those around you, having an untold (until you get to heaven) impact upon the world. Has God been talking to you lately? Is there something He wants you to do? Step out in His name, His amazing grace and do it.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
