Melissa’s Cozy Teacup

My query letter/bio/synopsis/50pages, thingy. I’m freaked! The agent to whom I’m sending all of this requests an author bio of a half a page. My guess is to keep down the copy on all those super experienced writer’s out there so she doesn’t get eye strain. My bio page was 2 sentences. I’m pretty sure she won’t go blind reading it. I could be wrong. You see, I took creative writing in high school and college. I’ve been writing stories and poems since I could hold a pencil. My professional writing life has been a bit more limited. I have articles that were published in the local paper, and dreams, big honkin’ dreams about writing. Yeah, so I’m forty and this is my first novel. So what? Martha Stewart didn’t write her first book until she was forty either but I’m thinking it was more because she was busy creating a domestic empire and not because she was wasting away in a corporate America gulag because she believed the hype about getting a good job for the security of it, then got laid off which turned into a wake up call to live her life and revisit her dreams. Whew! Yeah, corporate America is about as secure as the button on my jeans after I’ve been down the Easter candy isle. Not!
