‘It’ll probably be turned into something really depressing, like a Baby Gap”, Meg Ryan’s character Kathleen Kelly on the fate of her book store in the movie; ‘You’ve Got Mail’.
This is Michelle’s. See the cute Eiffel Tower? It used to be a local land mark until the owner tried to open one in Denver, and wasn’t able to pay his taxes on both, or something like that, according to the news clip. I worked for a lady like that once. She used all the money she had, including Uncle Sam’s portion, to try and keep her business afloat. Can’t tax what doesn’t exist, but like all government logic (an oxymoron) businesses get closed anyway, no taxes, no money for the city budget. I understand that businesses have an obligation to pay their taxes, really I get it, and I’m not saying this one restaurant is the sole reson for our city’s budget woes, but there are many empty store fronts downtown and in Old Colorado City, the two most popular destinations for Colorado Springs.
Isn’t, wasn’t this a cute restaurant?

Yes, that’s me in the circle.

I know there is quite a bit of glare, but can you see them? The ladies in the mural enjoying a bit of something, ‘delectable’? as my sister would say.

Look at the empty cases. Perhaps they are waiting to be filled with these? Or perhaps turn it into this? I can only hope.
